These terms govern your use of the National Gas Engineers mobile application and this website. By registering for or using the app you agree to them. The app is operated by Brilliant Professionals Ltd, company number 08965978.
1. Who can join
Membership is limited to gas engineers who are registered with Gas Safe. You must supply a valid Gas Safe registration number when you sign up, and the number must be your own. We may suspend or remove accounts where we cannot verify registration, or where a number is found to be invalid or misused.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.
- You must give accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- One account per engineer. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.
3. Safety notice — important
Guidance in the app is peer discussion, not formal instruction. Content is shared by other engineers and is provided for general information only. It does not replace manufacturer instructions, current Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, British Standards, or your own training and professional judgement.
You remain fully responsible for the safety and legal compliance of any work you carry out. Always work within the scope of your own qualifications.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post anything unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory or discriminatory.
- Post advice you know to be unsafe, or encourage work outside a person's competence.
- Share another person's private information without their permission.
- Upload content you do not have the rights to share.
- Use the app to spam members or to advertise without our agreement.
- Scrape, copy or extract the app's content by automated means.
We may remove content and suspend accounts that breach these rules.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content within the app and to other members, so the community and its archive can function.
6. Our content and copyright
The app, its design, its branding and the collected archive of discussions are protected by copyright and trade mark (Trade Mark No: UK00003882444). Content within the app may not be reproduced, republished or used by third parties without our prior written permission.
7. Advertising
The home feed carries adverts and offers from third parties such as training centres and suppliers. We do not control those businesses and are not responsible for their products, services, pricing or claims. Any dealings you have with them are between you and them.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the app available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may update the app from time to time.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your reliance on content posted by other members, from work you carry out, or from any interruption to the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Ending your membership
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab or by contacting us. We may end or suspend your membership if you breach these terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
